Our trip to Como and Milan ended with an invitation by Mr. Cerruti, Elena and her team in Biella in Piemont. The driver of Mr. Cerruti picked us up in our hotel in Milan and drove us about an hour into the old region of textile fabrication. It was Mr. Cerruti’s nephew Matteo, who showed as the making of garment from the beginnings to the finishing. It was amazing and will be a lifelong memory for Roma, Toska and me.

Colour-References of the garments.

First step of preparing the yarn.

Piece dyed … and yarn dyed.

What an impressive logistic and stock of yarn …

The photos below show very much, how much the textile industry is a mixture between tradition and high tech, of experience, knowledge, accuracy and taste.

Every part of the garment is check of its quality … very important for us for later production.

And afterwards it is carefully washed and finished so it gets its right surface, soft and floating as we prefer or stiff and harsh as for example Balenciaga loves it.

Cerruti made in Italy is exactly what I love to chose for Roma e Toska, it captures its long history of creativity and its accuracy in the use of technology. And while we were all having lunch the telefone rang and it was Lanvin on the other side. And with a smile on the face, they continued talking about Victoria Beckham, the new collection of Margiela, the house of Ralph Lauren and the charming Paul Smith … We felt very much honored being here.
